Problems with creating VideoCDs?
The program stops?
- If you included many pictures and audio files for your slideshow, the VCD/SVCD creation process may take a while, depending
on the speed of your computer. The program didn't stop, it's still working in the background.
- If you switch to another task and back to Slideshow XL during the creation process, it's possible that only a white window is being
displayed. Don't worry, the program is still working.
- In case the creation of VCD/SVCD fails, the most common reason for this is the computer's lack of multimedia capabilities.
- Your PC should have a sound card built in.
- Your PC should be able to handle mp3 files.
- Your windows media player should be able to play MP3, WAV and videos.
- To analyze the problem, we included a logging function into a Slideshow XL. This file can help us to determine the position the
program fails at.
If the creation fails in spite of everything mentioned above, please send us the log file as an email attachement.
You'll find the log file "slideshow.log" in the folder "c:\program files\Slideshow XL"

I can't use my mp3s in the program!
If you already have mp3s on your harddrive, it can be that these files don't match the requirements of the program. For more information, see
Common Information About Audio Files.
- While adding music to the slideshow, an error message appears: "WinASPI not properly installed"!
Download the latest drivers at http://www.mediakg.de/aspi and install them.
It should work then.
- After I downloaded Slideshow XL, I can't install it. An error message shows up, saying "This is no valid Win32 application!"
This message indicates a corrupt download. Please delete the temporary internet files and download the file again.
- When I attempt to install the program, the PC-Linq/Infinity USB setup always starts!
Uninstall the PC-Linq/Infinity USB software, restart the PC and install Slideshow XL now. After your installed Slideshow XL, you can also reinstall PC-Linq/Infinity USB.
- The registration key doesn't work!
Don't enter the key manually, better copy it into the clipboard. Mark all the characters of the key and press "Crtl"+"C". Then start the program and click
at the box where the key belongs in. Atfer that, press "Ctrl"+"V".
- I can't create SVCDs, only VCDs with Nero 6!
Nero 6 requires a plug-in in order to produce SVCDs. You can retrieve it from the Ahead website - click here.
At the bottom of the page you'll find the plug-in you need.
This update is not free, so we recommend using Nero 5.5 or WinOnCD.
